New Year, New You they say. Well some do.
We’ve been busy saying New Year, New Us as we’re making changes here at The Kitchen.
Why all the changes? Well – we’re firm believers that if you’re not moving forwards you’re in danger of slipping backwards. We know that we have to constantly develop new ideas to attract new customers. It’s not that our old customers don’t like us any more (well we hope not!) but many mums go back to work, families move away, and circumstances change as the children grow up. New people move into the area and we want to get to know them!
So, for The Kitchen the New Year is also a time of New Beginnings!
Obtaining a licence for the sale of alcohol was a massive change and we’re loving the new attention and customers it is attracting. Whoever knew Craft Beer was such a thing? We do now!
Since The Dial Up opened up in Finchley and is now focusing on events there, we’ve been looking forward to the launch of our new open mic night. Kitchen Sync opens this Friday January 26 and we hope you can join us. Entrance is free with a Licensed Bar 7.30pm – 10.30pm.
We’re equally thrilled about our new collaboration with Mrs M Floral Design. Look out for workshops, table decorations and lots of co-working with Fiz and her fabulous flowers!
Meanwhile we continue to host classes and workshops when the coffee shop is closed. Link4Growth hold three workshops every Tuesday as part of the Kickstarter series. Come and find out how to make this the year your business grows and succeeds. Learn how to utilise social media, make your vision a reality and so much more. Link4Growth continue to hold their popular coffee and lunchtime meetings on the second and last Friday of the month – keep an eye on Facebook for more information.
Star Tutors hold Eleven Plus Classes on a Tuesday afternoon at 4pm. Join in for expert tuition in Maths and English – so much more enjoyable with a milkshake and cookie to hand!
Another new class attracting a lot of attention is Relax Kids at 4pm and 5pm on a Wednesday afternoon – click the link to find out more and do get in touch if you’re interested in attending.
If you’re interested in the arts – be it craft, photography or film – you should also find something to interest you here. Every month the lovely Sylvia meets to instruct us in how to make a Greetings Card or some other beautiful project. The Camera Club meet monthly on a Saturday Morning for Snapchatters. And we are thrilled to be screening Heaven’s Rage in conjunction with the local Green Party who also hold their monthly socials at The Kitchen.
Aside from all these external events and activities we have a range of classes on offer in baking and cake decorating. Again the best place to keep up to date is on Facebook but if you give us a call we’re always pleased to tell you more!
So – as you will see there’s lots happening! The heart of our business of course remains the celebration cake business and Afternoon Tearoom and we do advise you to book early if you’d like to take tea with us, or enjoy a bespoke cake. We’re hoping to increase our capacity quite soon and (shhhhh….) to reopen on a Wednesday but it still gets very busy so please don’t leave it too late and be disappointed.
As ever thanks for your support and interest, it means more than we can say.
