The success of Saturday Kitchen has taken us all by surprise! Since October 2016 we’ve welcomed a group of young bakers every Saturday and they’ve successfully baked a variety of cupcakes, sponges, biscuits and cookies. The photo shows them proudly displaying their biggest challenge – Viennese Whirls.
Over the coming weeks we will be revisiting some of our favourite recipes. We hope to welcome lots of new friends, and also hope that our seasoned bakers will keep coming and learn how to adapt the bakes they’ve made before with new flavours and ingredients.
The dates we have planned at present are as follows. We’re holding the price at £20.00 per person for now as we want this to be accessible to everyone, but prices of raw ingredients are rising all the time so we hope you will understand if we need to make a small increase in the coming months.
Saturday March 4 Cupcakes – learn the basics or use our Foodie Flavours, fruits and other ingredients to make something new!
Saturday March 11 Sponge Cake – whether you want to make a simple Victoria Sponge, a lovely Chocolate Cake, a luscious Lemon Sponge or perhaps Coffee and Walnut cake – come and join us!
Saturday March 18 Lovely Loafkins – make your own gluten and dairy free bake from our standard recipes – or try something new maybe?
Saturday March 25 Beautiful Biscuits – Shortbread biscuits that you flavour and decorate to taste – let your creative side have fun!
Saturday April 1 Viennese Whirls – come and have another go – or try for the first time. Well worth the effort!
Saturday April 8 Easter nests Cornflakes or rice crispies – which will you choose? Model a chick and finish your nests with mini eggs – the perfect Easter gift.
Over the Easter Holidays we have classes suitable for younger children. Follow our Facebook Page for dates and times.
We are also planning a special Easter Celebration Tea – again keep an eye on FB as spaces will be limited – we’d love to welcome you for a chocolate feast!
