It’s been a while since we blogged. Not that we don’t love doing so, but the logistics of keeping The Kitchen open during Lockdown 2 have kept us pretty busy.
We had finally reopened – somewhat later than many other cafes and restaurants – and were getting into the swing of things again. With a limited number of tables, sanitiser on hand and face masks at the ready we welcomed you back into the Tearoom to sit and enjoy your food and drink.
When suddenly the rug was pulled from under us as once again we were forced to shut. This time however we have opted to stay open for takeaways, and have enjoyed being here to serve you all with Morning Coffee and Pastries, Lunchtime Panini, and of course our now legendary Afternoon Tea to enjoy at home.
If you haven’t been in for a while and live locally why not pay us a visit when out on your walk or exercise? We have a lovely selection of Treat Boxes, Brownie Stacks, Boxes of Cupcakes and Bags of Cookies. All perfect treats for a doorstep delivery to someone perhaps isolating or in need of cheering up.
We’ve also refined our Cake Bombs and produced a smaller sibling for them – The Kitchen Conicles! (If you don’t know what we’re talking about this is a proper mathematical term to describe their shape!)
With Christmas coming we are already working on some great ideas for Cakes and Cookies. If you would like to order a Christmas Cake then please do get in touch. We are baking sherry soaked deep rich fruit cakes in the one size this year. Six inch round or square, and covered with marzipan and fondant icing they are individually hand finished and absolutely beautiful. Perfect to cut into and enjoy throughout the twelve days of Christmas!
