Have we stumbled on the key to success?! Or is it the Christmas spirit getting to us and the business?
Either way we’ve had a fabulous few days here at The Kitchen. We’ve made lots of new friends and customers; we’ve been busy all day and at times we’ve even had people queuing to be served.
We have to be honest and say that this demand has been driven in no small part by the Craft Beer from Popes Yard Brewery. Since we obtained our premises licence (did we mention that…?!) we’ve been selling this lovely beer at our evening events with a small selection on the counter. More recently we’ve made up some gift packs, which have been shared and re-shared on social media.
There seems to be a demand for Craft Beer, especially that brewed locally. Paradigm Brewery have subsequently been in touch too and we now stock quite a variety of beers from light ales to complex dark beers (12.5%? Isn’t that a wine?!)
We’ve had wonderful opportunities to tell these lovely new customers more about The Kitchen. Some are interested in our Comedy Nights or the Open Mic evenings planned for next year. Others are looking for a celebration cake or somewhere to enjoy Afternoon Tea or a Birthday Party. Many are saying how important it is for small businesses to support each other. And our role as a champion of such businesses has been mentioned once or twice too!
We’re hosting a Christmas Gathering tomorrow. At 3pm Father Christmas is popping in. From 4pm we have carols round the tree led by Reverend Robert. We’ll continue into the evening with a licensed bar and some late night shopping (expect a few bargains!) We would love to welcome many of you for drinks and mince pies, cakes and cookies! Whilst we’d love these to be free we hope you will understand the need to make a small charge to cover costs.
On Saturday we will close at 4pm. We then re-open on January 4 at 9am. Expect some changes but they are all good! Happy Christmas and all the very best for 2018!
