I was amazed to see over 1000 views on this blog in the last two days – I even tweeted about it at @kitchencroxley!
Thanks everyone for your interest. We believe The Kitchen will be an asset to Croxley, complementing the many other local businesses and encouraging people to stay and shop locally.
Many people have asked me what exactly we will be doing in there. Well – first and foremost of course – baking! We’re installing a large kitchen at the rear of the property, with a cake decorating studio in front of that. And – very exciting – masses of storage.
If you saw that picture of our back bedroom a while back you will appreciate what this means to us! The front room is pretty much the same now, and the kitchen cupboards would love to welcome back beans and cereal, rather than flour and icing sugar!
At the front of the shop we’ll keep a flexible space. Somewhere to sit and browse catalogues, chat over a cuppa while you discuss an order, or just hang out if you only want a slice of cake and would like to enjoy it on the premises. We can use this space for cake decorating classes, and also for overflow storage and display at busy times of year.
We’ll open early and while we get the day’s bake on there will be coffee to go for the commuters of Croxley. Pre-order with our reverse loyalty card for a discounted price and your order ready for you!
We aim to open in September. That sounds ambitious when you look at the place now…
But the re-wiring has begun with the first cable tray installed. Mr Filled With Love is working his socks off so if you’re passing and see him do feel free to offer him chocolate!
Sarah and Nanny Anne will be here again later. More filling, rubbing down, making tea and pulling cables through. While I stay home and make sugarpaste squirrels!
Thanks again for reading.
